Chuck Fenda, born Leshorn Whitehead in Brooklyn and raised in St. Catherine, Jamaica, is aninternationally acclaimed reggae artist whose career spans nearly three decades. Known as the“Poor People’s Defender,” his conscious lyrics and authentic representation of Jamaican andRastafarian culture have made him a true ambassador of reggae music.
He first rose to prominence under King Jammy with early singles like“Jah It’s All About You”before joining Fifth Element Records, where hits such as“Life Ruff OutDeh,” “I Swear,”and“Respect Mama”laid the foundation for his breakthrough albumBetter Days(2005). HisGreensleeves releaseThe Living Fire(2007) produced the worldwide hit“Coming Over”withCherine Anderson, cementing his place as a global force inreggae.
